Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Thomas Naughton will be retiring from the Airport Authority at the end of September.
Naughton began working with WCAA in 2002, when Public Act 90 established the Authority, and has served in a number of leadership positions including chief financial officer, executive vice president and interim chief executive officer. He was promoted to chief executive officer in 2012. During Naughton’s tenure with WCAA, DTW was named one of the Best Airports in North America by Airports Council International’s Airport Service Quality Program for its customer service and quality.

Joe Nardone has been appointed interim CEO. Nardone is currently the Vice President of Business Development and Real Estate for the Authority. He will begin serving in his new role October 1 as the Board takes steps to implement a transition plan.
