UK aviation security company Dardan has appointed a former police inspector and specialist in counter terrorism and hostage and crisis negotiation as its new head of Aviation and Specialist Services.
Ross McDermott spent 14 years with Norfolk Constabulary during which he had responsibility for the policing of Norwich Airport. In the newly created role of Head of Aviation and Specialist Services with Dardan Security, he will have responsibility for security for clients at Norwich Airport, Aberdeen Airport and for key national sites and sensitive locations, where Dardan has clients across the country.
Dardan Security are licensed to deliver Project Griffin, for which Ross McDermott will have responsibility. Project Griffin aims to advise and familiarise managers, security officers and employees of public and private sector organisations on security and counter-terrorism issues.
It works by encouraging the public to be vigilant and to report suspicious behaviour and activity around their community to help combat terrorism and crime.
