Schiphol presented its aviation awards last week with three business partners nominated in each category. Winners included KLM Cargo who were presented with the Cargo Award. They have set up a project to significantly speed up and enhance the efficiency of European supply chains. This involves using each other’s data, and looking beyond their own business. KLM teamed up with Jan de Rijk, Kuehne + Nagel, Swissport, Dutch Customs and Cargonaut to create a more efficient and transparent supply chain.
Another award winner is airBaltic who scooped the Sustainability Award. In 2016, the carrier became the first airline to introduce a Bombardier CS300 to Schiphol – which means less noise pollution and lower emission levels.
