As part of a general communications systems upgrade, London Luton Airport will replace its Voice Communication System (VCS).
Cyrrus will oversee delivery of the main Communication System on behalf of London Luton Airport Operations Ltd, while air navigation service provider NATS, will project manage the overall upgrade programme with support from selected sub- contractors. Systems Interface will deliver, install and commission the Frequentis 3020X VCS as a key element of the project.
The Frequentis system will be able to integrate the existing analogue and digital radio infrastructure and is fully compliant to the ED-137B EUROCAE standard according to the company.
David Healey, NATS General Manager Air Traffic Services at London Luton Airport, said, “NATS is a natural fit to deliver these critical replacement systems with an eye to the future thanks to our dedicated UK-based engineering teams and extensive integration experience, as well as our track record of successful delivery across the UK. We are delighted to have been appointed to work with London Luton Airport on this project.”
