The first flight operated by Thomas Cook Airlines took off from London Luton Airport (LLA) this week , marking the 14th new route this year.
The new route will serve the Greek island of Corfu, operating every Sunday throughout the summer season.
LLA is continuing to expand its route network as part of its current transformation project. 19 new routes have been confirmed in 2017 so far.
The transformation plans will increase annual capacity at LLA by 50% to 18 million passengers by 2020. This includes doubling the size of its shopping and dining area for passengers; recent new additions include Bella Italia and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, which will be joined by FRISKA and Benugo this summer and The Smithfield a new pub/restaurant.
