The latest phase of development work aimed at improving the customer experience for departing passengers, is now underway at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
Approximately £4 million is being invested in a refurbishment and upgrade of approximately 2,000 sq m of the upper floor of the departure lounge, bringing this in line with those areas of the terminal that have undergone similar improvements over the past 18 months.
Using the services of a number of local building and shop fit companies, the works are expected to be completed in June 2017, ahead of the peak Summer season and are taking place in the first area that passengers enter having completed the security screening process.
The construction project includes a reconfigured retail area for both new and existing retail outlets, new washroom facilities, large flight information screens and new seating which the airport management say will create a lighter and brighter passenger environment.
Earlier this year the Airport completed the first phase of terminal improvements having invested £2.5 million in a number of new and improved facilities all aimed at enhancing the customer experience of the airport.
