Liquid Controls (LC), a globally leading provider of fuel metering and measurement technology, has unveiled their new augmented reality technology to improve safety and efficiency in major commercial fuel services industries.
FlightConnect Glass is a personal eyewear computing and display device that offers users a high quality mobile viewing experience that provides unprecedented real-time data and controls for improved fueling mobility, efficiency, and safety.
Co-developed in exclusive partnership in the fueling space with Finland based company, Augumenta Oy, Liquid Controls has unveiled this remote, wireless technology as the first ever to deliver always-on fueling system metrics and real-time safety alerts to the fueling operator.
Frank Montalvo, liquid controls VP of aviation, government & defense, said: “We salute the hard-working men and women who work tirelessly to deliver fuel to everything from the aircraft that we fly in to the houses that we live in. Likewise, we have a responsibility to use the resources we’ve been given to tirelessly innovate the environment they work in to make their jobs easier, safer, and ultimately to improve people’s lives. FlightConnect Glass is another prime example of an LC product putting people first.”
FlightConnect Glass uses proprietary embedded hardware and software to wirelessly display live meter-register data including active fuel being delivered, flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and time remaining as well as system alerts like differential pressure warnings or system diagnostic codes all on a small, easy to view 1 cm screen securely mounted to safety glasses, safety helmets, or even prescription glasses.
Dan Clevenger, product manager – Liquid Controls & Avery-Hardoll brands added: “When we develop new products, we start and end with the user. The easier, safer, and more innovative we can make the user’s experience, the safer, more productive, and ultimately the more enjoyable their experience will be, which makes it all the more exciting for us to innovate.”
