IATA hosts aviation fuel supply event in Russia

Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation-fuel business operator of Gazprom Neft, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) hosted, for the first time in Russia, an international conference for standardization of data exchange in aviation fuel supply.

New electronic formats developed by the Fuel Data Standards Group (IATA FDSG*), which includes some of the largest global aviation fuel suppliers, airlines and IT vendors associated with aviation fuel, will significantly reduce labor inputs and accelerate document circulation by processing aviation fuel operations data online.

The conference held in the Sheremetyevo International Airport was attended by representatives from Russia’s Ministry of Transport, Federal Antimonopoly Authority, aviation fuel operators, airports, and 16 Russian and international airlines. The Gazpromneft-Aero’s experts, also members of the IATA FDSG presented the document templates. These are based on the universal digital format (XML**) and will facilitate information exchange between airlines and fuel suppliers at each key stages of the fuel supply process including the tender, online request for fueling, transfer of a digital purchasing order, payment of invoice and reconciliation of payments.

During the conference, participants inspected aircraft fueling by a Gazpromneft-Aero fuel truck equipped with an automated commercial accounting module with a GSM transmitter for online information on fueling parameters.
