Helsinki Airport to host Winter Ops & Airside Safety Europe 2015

As Europe’s winter season officially closes, Airport Focus announces the next edition of its major biennial conference, Winter Operations & Airside Safety Europe (WOASE 2015)™.

Winter Ops & Airside Safety Europe 2015Airport Focus is delighted that the event will be hosted by Helsinki Airport, on 23-24 February 2015. Given its global leadership in ‘snow-how’, there is no more fitting location for this event than Helsinki.

Feedback from WOASE 2013™ – when delegates from 27 countries attended at Heathrow, UK – was universally positive: the quality of the content, audience and organisation was first class.

In Helsinki, delegates will be taken on a journey through all the key areas of airfield operations in winter conditions, such as Runway Management and the Apron, De-Icing, the Environmental Impact, and A-CDM. At the request of returning delegates a special feature on Seasonal Workers will consider the human factors. Given Helsinki Airport is a key stopover for the Asian market, Airport Focus has invited operators from both East & West to present their complimentary strategies to the delegation.

• Day 1 will be a traditional conference, taking place at the modern Hilton Helsinki: only a 2 minute walk from Helsinki’s main terminal building.

• Day 2 will be unique as Helsinki Airport has created a bespoke educational tour of the airfield: a deep insight into how this airfield deals with the myriad issues thrown up by the severe weather and temperatures that it experiences for 6 months of the year or more. Suppliers will be showcasing their equipment live in snow conditions.

Special packages have been created so all you have to do is get to Helsinki – once there, all accommodation, refreshments, education and fun is included in one simple price.
