More than 120 delegates attended an event specifically developed to educate passengers on the special assistance journey offered by the aviation industry and changes to the service specifically delivered at Edinburgh Airport.
Hosting proceedings on the day was Graham Race, Tryb4uFly’s QEF and Matthew Wilson, Accessibility & PRM Contracts Manager at the airport.
The day started with an introduction from the airport’s Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Dewar, followed by a session covering the special assistance services available for PRM passengers booking flights, destinations and even the best insurance on the market.
During the event delegates discussed issues such as how to book special assistance, car parking, different types of support available and specially designed equipment operated by the airport’s special assistance provider OmniServ that can assist passengers in getting in and out of their seats. Of particular interest was the Eagle Hoist, which enables airport staff to maneuver passengers in to and out of their seats with dignity and without any unnecessary discomfort.
